434. : Not that there was any doubt - I was the obvious choice, but...
213. : Well, perhaps there was a smidge of doubt. I do come with my complications.ORI_Astarion_State_ReactedToDumpedSomeoneForHim
50. Player: Who among us doesn't, I ask you.REALLY_KARLACH
347. : Ha! All right, fair enough.
521. Player: Don't we all?REALLY_KARLACH
296. : Not everyone lusts for blood, darling. Or could be cursed to an eternity in the shadows if they lose their brain parasite.
4. : Well... you do lust for blood, but you know what I mean. REALLY_DARK_URGE
85. : My point is you didn't have to choose this.
821. Player: But I did. I want this. I want you.
812. Player: I've made my decision, so you'd better get used to it.
766. : Well, if you insist on loving and adoring me, I guess I'll have to allow it.
694. : You know, darling, I think we are going to have a lot of fun together.End
758. Player: Don't worry - if I don't like it, I'll just leave you.
836. : Not exactly a resounding declaration of love, but... maybe that's for the best.
269. : All right. Let's see what happens.End
31. Player: Maybe I like complications. They keep things interesting.
131. : Oh, I can do interesting. It's everything else that worries me.
41. Player: We may be a disaster, but I want to see what happens.
165. : I realise now I've never really had anyone. Not really. Nothing that compares to you.

406. : Everything before that is so long ago it's ancient history. And everything that came after - well, I'd rather not reflect on it.
352. Player: You must remember your life before that?
223. : I was a magistrate, working to keep the peace in Baldur's Gate. Imprisoning trouble makers, that kind of thing.Astarion_InParty_Event_ToldAboutMagistrate
417. : I can't remember much, truth be told. Centuries of torment will do that to you.
843. Player: How were you turned?
856. : I was attacked. A gang of vagrants, a tribe of wandering 'Gur', took issue with a ruling I'd made.
293. : They beat me to death's door when Cazador appeared. He chased them off and offered to save me. To give me eternal life.LearnedAstarionDeath
226. : Given that my choices were 'eternal life' or 'bleed to death on the street', I took him up on the offer.

32. : It's simple. Just find a vampire that will drink your blood and turn you into a vampire spawn: their obedient puppet.
796. : In theory, the next step is to drink their blood. Once you've done that, you're free and a true vampire.
62. Player: 'In theory'?
284. : People think the biggest threat to a vampire is a cleric with a stake. It's not.devnote
838. : The biggest threat to a vampire is another vampire. They're scheming, paranoid, power-hungry beasts.
412. : So why would any vampire give up control over a spawn to create a competitor?
65. Player: So they bite you, you bite them?
630. : Yes and no. The problem is once you're a vampire spawn, they completely control you. They have to allow you to bite them.
178. : And why would they do that? Vampires are power-hungry creatures. They won't lose a servant to create a competitor.
116. : Trust me. It doesn't happen.
