45. : Hey, soldier. You're back.devnote
55. Player: Still 'soldier' after everything we've been through, huh?
83. : Old habits. Did I miss anything while I was off having a sulk?devnote
103. Player: Not really. But I missed you.ORI_State_PartneredWithKarlach
23. : I missed you too. You know, I wouldn't have bothered falling in love with you if I'd known saying goodbye would be so hard.devnote
31. Player: Who's saying goodbye? I'm here.
18. : You certainly are.devnote
97. : I'm trying to stay here, now, alive, while I can. But it's like my mind is whittled down to the black hole that should've been our future.devnote
41. Player: I think about it too.
14. : Ugh, I'm sorry. I don't want you to be sad. I mean, I do. But not too sad.devnote
10. Player: I'll be the right amount of sad. Some, but not too much. Just for you.
36. : I know I can count on you.devnote

7. : Haha! In every blister, there I'll be.devnote
69. : Ah, honey. I hope you miss me, but not too much. You have a gift in front of you: A whole life. You have to savour it. Promise?
87. Player: I promise I will.
34. : Good. I know I can trust you to keep your word on that.

25. Player: We still have a future. Maybe a shorter one than most, but that doesn't make it less beautiful.
50. : Wow. Gods - you're so right. And we are beautiful, aren't we. This is - it's everything.

64. Player: You wouldn't have had a choice. I would've pursued you to the ends of Faerûn.
28. : I probably would've exploded somewhere around Scornubel, so at least your trip home would be short.devnote
111. Player: I know what you mean. I'm scared of you leaving me behind.
67. : I don't want to leave you behind. Not ever.devnote
63. : If I had my choice, we'd do it all together. Life - a long life. And then we'd slip away one night, side by side, wrinkled and grey, warm in our bed.devnote
12. : But that's not in the stars for us, my love. Ours is a short story with a few good twists - and a banger of an ending.devnote
0. Player: Perhaps that's more our style anyway.
26. : You know, I think you might be right.devnote
17. : Speaking of which. There's something I wanted to ask you.
68. : Will you stay with me? When it's time. For me to go.devnote
104. : I think I can do anything if you're there. Even die.devnote
73. Player: Of course I'll be there, Karlach. Whatever you want.ORI_State_PartneredWithKarlach = False

99. : Thank you.devnote
13. : Now! Enough tragedy. I'm not gone yet. And our schedule is packed with important heroics, isn't it.devnote
2. : Plus, if I cry any more, I'm going to run out of tears and start leaking motor oil.
80. : Thanks for everything, darling. I love you. A lot.ORI_State_PartneredWithKarlachEnd
22. : Thanks for everything, soldier. I'm extremely glad to be in this thing together.ORI_State_PartneredWithKarlach = FalseEnd
32. Player: I'm not sure I can. It'll be too hard.
77. : If I can do it, you can do it. We're in this thing together, you know. If you wanted an easy time of it, you should've given my head to those 'paladins' of Tyr way back when.
101. : As it is, you're stuck loving an in-progress tragedy with a time bomb for a heart. Decisions, decisions.
96. : Hopefully this little misstep has taught you a thing or two about decision-making.
40. : Now. Let's get a move on before I start crying again. At the rate I'm going, all that'll come out is motor oil.

79. Player: I haven't given up, Karlach. We still might be able to fix your engine.
100. : Maybe. But I think... I think the gods are trying to show me my fate. And I think I'm ready to look at it.devnote
107. Player: Karlach, would you ever consider going back to Avernus? Just for a while, just to buy yourself more time.
15. : No. I can't. I'd rather die here in Faerûn, my home, than live in service to a devil.
4. Player: I understand. I just wish there were another way.
48. : So do I. I've done the calculus a hundred times. There's no permutation I can find that doesn't end in me dead or wishing for death.
65. : This is it. This is all we have. Each other, and all the moments we have left.ORI_State_PartneredWithKarlach
106. : This is it. This is all I have. This life, and all the moments I have left here.ORI_State_PartneredWithKarlach = False
35. Player: It wouldn't have to be forever. Just long enough for us to figure out a way to fix your engine.
92. : I've considered it. Believe me, I have. But it would take Zariel all of a minute to suss me out and force me back into the Blood War.
62. : I can't do it anymore. I'd wish for death every day. Let me go out surrounded by things I love - not things I hate.

43. : I wish I could do what you're asking. I do. But there are things worse than death. Living in the Hells is one of them. I've done it long enough to know.

105. Player: Villains rose, heroes fell, and the apocalypse drew nearer.
16. : Nothing out of the ordinary then.devnote
84. Player: We can talk about that later. I'm more concerned about you.
38. : Would you believe it if I said I'm all right?
39. Player: Nothing important.
6. : That's a change. Seems like world-shattering revelations are coming at us from every angle these days.
19. : You know, soldier, we're so fucked. The Dark Three are trying to consume the Sword Coast, we've still got tadpoles in our eyes, and I've got a ticking time bomb in my chest.devnote
44. : I'm not sure anyone has ever been more fucked than this.devnote
57. : And yet... we're fine. In this moment, we're fine. Here I am. There you are. Breathing. Talking. Even laughing, if we want.devnote
11. : Is it very precious to say that, despite it all, I'm... happy?
86. Player: I can't be happy when the woman I love is in danger.ORI_State_PartneredWithKarlach
8. : Ah, my love. We've been in danger since before we even met.

98. : Very fair. Maybe after we've sorted one or two of the life-ending calamities staring us down.
59. : Speaking of which... there's something I wanted to ask you.
49. Player: If you're happy, I'm happy.
52. : In that case, there's something I wanted to ask you.

81. : Gods, I've changed. I used to hamstring pit fiends for fun. Look at me now.devnote
53. : To make matters, worse, there's something I wanted to ask you.
102. Player: This is all well and good, but I can't pretend there isn't a solution here. You could go back to Avernus and live.
